EfoilSolutions Axis Adapters-Riders Feedback

The Axis adapters introduce exciting new possibilities for your Lift, Flite, or Waydoo. Certain Axis wings can deliver performance levels that aren’t achievable with the standard wing options offered by the company.

This blog features comments from various riders about their experiences using the EfoilSolution adapters with Axis wings.

Chris B:
I’ve really been enjoying the black axis adapter. In particular the HPS 930 and 700 wings are a blast. Very smooth height transitions and easy to do snowboard-style turns. The ART line not so much- hard to bank and skittish feeling. I have yet to try a spitfire or art v2 but they seem promising.

I’ve been having a very fun time with the black adapter and the HPS 930 wing - very smooth and predictable while still turning well. Loves to cruise at about 17 mph for me at 200lb. Went 15 miles on explorer battery yesterday and still had 33% battery left. Great pitch stability. HPS 980 is fun too and has been great for teaching more skillful beginners.

BCS 890 I find to be fun and surfy too; have not tried others in that line.

With the red adapter, I really love the SP 860 wing- very efficient, stable at low speeds and really fun for carving and cruising. I would love to try the smaller SP wings. The adapter disappears into the wing so no extra drag, and pairs great with the shorter tail from Jeff Argov and battery lasts forever

For all these I’m using -2 or -3 shims front and -2 rear with the Flow 245 stab. Really fun!

I've used a lot of axis wings, including most of the HPS series from 650 to 1050, ART 799, 899 and 999, one of the ART pro's, ART v2 879,939,999, BSC 890 and 810, spitfire 840 and 1030, PNG 1150 and 1310, and all have worked great. I
've used most of the flite wings too. With the adapters (both red and black), no noticeable drag, and overall I like the axis wings better. They're more pitch stable in turns for me and a different swoopy feel that I like.
The big advantage of the adapters and the older non-conical attachment system is you can run negative shims front and back, which -really- helps the responsiveness of the system and a lot less front foot pressure at speed.
The stability at low speed is more about skill and wing size than wing shape. Same with "wave-specific" wings. You can ride most of the flow and flow s wings on waves just fine, and a whole bunch of the axis wings will work well on waves. Any wave wing will also be fine on flatwater.

Just used my red adapter for the first time and had a blast on my 910 png. Props to the crew for both black and red adapters. Looking for ward to the rear stab release!

Gare O:
I'm using a red adapter with an Axis SP 760 wing and Fliteboard AIR Pro. It's a little fighter jet of a setup, very carvy.

Stephen L:
Have the adapter for the black axis 1099 art. Only tried once but its promising

Paul M:
The 1201 is my daily driver for downwinding and doing hour-long nonstop surf pumping repeats but yeah it doesn’t like to “roll” which makes it feel difficult to use at first.

Jeff Argov:
The ART and Spitfires are ok but a bit hard to ride with efoils. My two most favorite combos are HPS1050 + 500 stab for wave riding, and 890 + 440 for easy riding on flat water.

Jeremy B:
Out of the three wings I have it's a tough choice.  I feel like the Spitfire 840 is the best all around wing for doing everything really well.  By far my most efficient wing.  Fast too.  Lots of lift but still manageable at higher speeds.
I like the HPS 700 for being more aggressive and trying to do wing-outs. It feels a bit more surfy than the Spitfire.  But Its also fairly beginner friendly based on one beginner friends use.
The SP 660 is very surfy.  I'd say it might have the most familiar feel and shape.  Not very efficient. Most similar to the Waydoo patroller wing but more stable while still being surfy.  I would really like to try a much smaller spitfire as well as a larger spitfire.

Larger for poaching waves and just cruising.  Smaller for aggressive advanced stuff.... Or at least that's what I imagine that I would use them for and enjoy them for ever since axis came out with the Spitfire wing, I feel like every single wing they have released or improved since then has been a variation of the Spitfire or has taken characteristics from the Spitfire.  The Spitfire Wing seems to have been quite a turning point in their development and history based on my little knowledge and experience with the brand.
The new art Pro, the new pump and Glide, and of course obvious from the name... New the new fireball wings all have similarity to the Spitfire in some way or another.
