2. TEST REPORT BY MIKE H.

Hi Jeff and Cody,
Was able to finish up my test runs yesterday.   In summary, the eFoilSolutions test prop (eFtp) was ~15% more efficient than the Waydoo Improved Propeller (WIP).   This is significant as every percentage makes a big difference when you are out riding.    The ride quality and noise were similar for both props.   For ride quality, the eFtp was smooth and handled turning and breaching well.   Overall I would rate it overall as a 5% smoother ride than the WIP.  This was mostly due to the more consistent delivery of thrust through with wide turns than the WIP that can have slightly more variation in thrust delivery when not in a straight line.   The dB level was too close to tell the difference with my ear alone.   I would say the eFtp and WIP were close in total dB, but varied in frequency from each other.    Attached are screen shots of yesterday’s testing to illustrate the consistence of the test route, however the time, distance and speeds are not reliably measured within the Waydoo app.

If you move to production, will the final project be metal or 3D filament?   3D printed props can have a stereotype of being less reliable than metal props and prone to unprovoked structural failure (blades coming off).   Price point would likely influence the significance this perception plays in customer minds.

Thanks for asking me to test and happy to continue in the future.  Gave my wetsuits a good workout!   Come late March -  Oct, I typically eFoil several times a week if you ever need further product testing.

73lbs : Dry board weight with battery, mast, prop and fins

Conditions: Protected freshwater lake with no measurable wind, current or waves.

187 lbs: Dry rider weight with wetsuit, lifejacket and controller

Surface water temp 41 F

269 lbs:  Total test weight not including water absorption (~2 /bs)

Test Track: 1700m oval test track marked by two anchored buoys.

4 complete laps plus time/distance to/from pier.

All runs completed on foil, with no falls, in as straight and level a manner as possible.

Waydoo FP7 Improved Prop

Test run scrubbed.  Waydoo FP7 propeller do not seem to be able to produce sufficient thrust to foil without the propeller guard installed (Likely acts as a hydrodynamic kort-nozzle in synergy with propeller forces to generate thrust).

Below are examples of why the Waydoo app is not accurate for time, distance, speed.   It can sporadically lose GPS tracking and also is prone to randomly jumping around.
